Scott Baker
Learn improv techniques to enhance your busy life and change the world! In show business, Scott is known as “The Quickest Thinker in Comedy”.
For the past decade, Scott has been sharing his personal story from the dark obstacles he faced growing up in a humble family, to the glory of a highly decorated New York Police Department Officer, his time as part of the award-winning comedy team of “Isaacs and Baker”, his brainchild hit TV sitcom on Amazon.com “Midtown” and his three books he has written about his career as a police officer.
At 4-years old, Scott witnessed the death of his brother Marc and at 10-years old he suffered his father’s passing. Scott’s mother was recovering from depression when Scott’s surviving brother was cruelly bullied and became suicidal. Scott realized he was able to help his mother and brother smile and laugh by conveying his innate comical edge and impersonating various characters.
In his quest to continue supporting his mother and brother financially, as a teenager, Scott would take it up on himself to knock on restaurant doors to offer to clean-up tables and dishes in exchange for tips. Later, he would take on employment cleaning public bathrooms in state parks to earn money to buy clothing for school.
As a young man, Scott learned to appreciate discipline. Scott began a boxing career and also tried out for the New York Mets baseball team. However, he decided to put an end to his athletic aspirations to assist his mom as she was battling breast cancer.
Scott learned never to back down when he was in the right and use his varied skills not only to help others but himself and to approach life with a positive, determined attitude and to boost self-confidence in himself and others.
Scott loves teaching kids and adults in schools, universities and corporations using improvisational thinking to enhance daily routines. Together with his friend and comedy partner Vinnie Mark, Scott brings business experience and real-life stories to life through fun, valuable and inspirational presentations for children and adults.
Scott teaches 21st century communication skills required for success in society and the workplace through the following methods:
Learning to LISTEN to UNDERSTAND – not just to reply
Learning to be grateful for what you have
Learning not to be judgmental
Learning to “socialize” without “social media”
Learning to think “I CAN” instead of “I CANNOT” and “I GET TO” instead of “I HAVE TO”
motivational speaker – actor – writer – producer – inspirational communicator
“Scott also understands this concept and incorporates it into all his improv teaching, whether to help youngsters and teens deal with bullying or to help adults deal with the challenging of coworkers.”
